ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: RUN

"YOU"
ACRYLIC, INK, AND PAPER ON CARDBOARD

I had a really good time making this piece for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY. I tried some new methods of getting the effects I like. This time I made the collage of the running brain and heart with antique illustrations, then scanned them into my computer and printed it out on an old piece of cardboard. I added acrylic, ink and some handwriting. I'm especially liking the handwriting design possibilities right now (as started on Eos below). So much to try, and so little time!

The concept was inspired by the idea that your heart and mind take the lead at different times, depending on the situation. Sometimes, I have difficulty when my heart takes the lead and leaves my rational side (brain) in the dust. :) I'm sure we all do now and again. Like in matters of love. This is for those moments in life.

Good day to all! Hope all is well in your worlds! :)

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: MATCH

"THE WAITRESSES"
2 Panels-8x10 inches each
Vintage Advertisement, acrylic, paper, and ink on Canvas Board

Well, so much for staying on top of my blog! I've been busy, busy, busy for a while now with not so fun stuff like surgeries, and extra fun stuff like studio makeovers. Life is interesting because of the fluctuations. I feel like I appreciate things so much more since I've been sick this last time. I'm full of inspiration, and have a list of things I want to do that is a mile long. My studio's looking great. I'll post before and after pictures soon. I love going to other artists sites and seeing pictures of their working space. It's neat to get a peak inside someones little creative world. I frequent this blog that lets you do just that : http://on-my-desk.blogspot.com/

These little gals I made for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY get the honor of being the first illustrations I've made since I rehauled my space. I think they're a reflection of how happy this room makes me. It's always coffee and dessert time here now! :)

Hope everyone is well!
